President’s Message December 2022
December 20, 2022
On behalf of President Dagny Neel Fitzpatrick and the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania Cemetery Cremation and Funeral Association, we wish you the best of the season!
President’s Message
We made it to December of 2022! I continue to be encouraged every day by the resilience shown by deathcare professionals. I would like to extend my personal thanks to all the industry professionals for their dedication and care as we endured the vestiges of COVID, inflation and the supply chain shortages. Funeral directors, cemeterians, administrative staff, attendant staff, grounds crew, advanced planning representatives and all other support staff have all shown up, day after day, to serve our community. (Applause) You have all risen to the task with the dignified resilience we pride ourselves within this profession. Truly, our role is more than just disposition of the dearly departed and it is in times of great hardship that our opportunity to serve in this manner most presents itself. Knowing the unique suffering many of our families are experiencing, let us strengthen our commitment to excellence, knowing that how we treat people in their time of greatest need is long remembered and, more importantly, it is what each and every family deserves.
I am grateful to each of you for maintaining your membership in our organization this year. The value of having a vast group of professional colleagues to lean on as we face new trends challenging our industry. It is said that there is strength in numbers and now, more than ever, this becomes evident in our ability to reach out to other members for advice, industry updates, legal guidance or the simple comfort of fellowship knowing we are in this together. We are very fortunate to enjoy the many benefits of PCCFA membership and I am very proud to say that I’ve seen our bonds strengthen throughout this last year. You also have my personal thanks for your contributions to the PCCFA P.A.C. Fund and Legal Defense Fund.
May the holiday season end the present year on a cheerful note and make for a fresh and bright New Year. Cheers to you and wishing you a wonderful holiday filled with peace, love, and health along with a happy and safe New Year.
All the best,
Dagny Neel Fitzpatrick
